Would you like to learn more about Indonesia and its culture but work or have other daytime commitments that prevent you from joining a daytime study group?
Then the ‘Night Study Group’ (NSG) is the activity for you!
On one Wednesday of each month, IHS friends gather at the library in the evening and listen to a presentation from either an IHS friend or an external speaker on a topic related to Indonesian heritage. Past topics include Aarti Garde’s love story with chocolate, Lisbet Kristgaard’s armchair tour to Siberut and Sumba, Tara Manser’s historical interpretation of the Hindu-Buddhist Kingdoms of Indonesia, Rima Sjoekri’s study into the early cooking culture in Central Java, an urban planner’s comparison of past and present Kebayoran Baru by Marco Kusumawijaya, Udaya Halim story of growing up as a Chinese Indonesian during the Soeharto Era, and the Indian influence on Indonesia songket and batik by Geeti Bhatnagar).
Please join Heritage friends for evenings that will enlighten and delight you.
Our monthly program is publicized in the weekly E-news.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Night Study Group!
