The centrally located Indonesian Heritage Society Library has a collection of nearly 4000 books, slides, tapes, and other resources. Friendly volunteer staff assist registered Friends with registrations, schedule meetings, and browsing and borrowing books and resources. The Library is the heart of the organization and always welcomes interested new volunteers.
The Information Technology team manages the Heritage Society website, produces and sends the weekly E-newsletter to all registered participants. I.T. is always looking for those with computer skills of all levels, website and HTML programming knowledge, and anyone wishing to learn more about how these electronic publications are created by volunteering to help produce them.
The Publishing team welcomes support from those with editing and proof-reading skills and assistance from Friends with knowledge of the software program Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Those with skills such as designing, drawing, editing, printing, and photography will find this group fulfilling. If this is your area of expertise, please join in the fun!.
The Sales team markets new publications and gift items. Those with skills such as marketing, organizational and inventory and business skills (Excel) will find this group fulfilling. If this is your area of expertise, please join in the fun!
Those with clerical and administrative skills, and with an interest in meeting newcomers to Jakarta would enjoy being part of this vital group.

Do you think teaching young children in international schools about Indonesian culture sounds fun? Those who enjoy working with children will find this activity particularly rewarding. No prior teaching experience is necessary.
Museum Tours and Projects
Support the Museum Nasional by becoming a volunteer museum guide. We run museum guide training courses twice a year. Work on practical projects with the Museum Nasional and other museums. Volunteers are extremely priviledged to work on projects involving photography, documentation, translation and labeling.

If you enjoy planning social gatherings or want to show off your negotiating skills, join the Events team! You can commit to as many or as few events as you choose. Event coordinators choose venues, arrange for food and drink, organize entertainment and work with Public Relations to advertise each event.
